In the Studio...

Yesterday I stained the top of my work table, now it is
nice to touch and matches the rest of the room :3

This afternoon I started putting all my sewing gear in it's place and finding that things I had been using for storage at the old house could now be used more efficiently for other items...
Then I had the fun task of going through a large basket of extra bits & pieces and old & new projects, shaking out a few things to make sure it's all clean and making my hay fever worse XP

I am So Happy now that I have a wonderfully large area to work in where
I can spread every thing out and it can all have it's own special place :3
Then there is the tiny friends I have to keep me company while I work like the wee
Cardinal on my Over-locker who has been watching me quietly...

Then there is my new Desk Lamp!
All beautifully shiny and black and it most certainly makes up for the room being made so dark [at night] by the taking down the white canvas on the uppers walls by the previous owners and being of a similar model to that owned by Poirot; in the David Suchet's version *drools*

Night every-body ^_^

Happy Valentines...

I hope every-one had a lovely day, no matter what you were doing! :D

By Celesse

I am not often on the ball when it comes to Valentines, Allan is the one who remembers and as usual I received a call from him while at work to let me know how much he loves me and to see if I wanted to go on a date after Toby had been put to bed to the Pancake Parlour :3
Honestly, I wouldn't have minded staying home, but it was lovely being able to go out with-out mini us showing us his drawings and telling stories about his new fav' Pokemon.
Of course those times out are lovely too, in a different way :D

It was chockers when we arrived after 11:30pm and people were still coming in when we left after 1:00am. We both enjoyed desserts, the usual two stack pancake - mine with Cream and Strawberries, Allan's with Chocolate Ice-cream and Fudge - so good!

Good Night All!

Our Trip To Ikea...

Firstly, I told Toby if he didn't eat at least half of his food I would blog and tell all
the other mums and children that he didn't finish his food, see all those chips
- the one thing most kids think they would die over - he left them, bar four! X3

Meaty Goodness!

Crawling through doorways...

Running, Spinning, Flail!

Tug-O-War with a Spider...

Pining for Hedgehogs & Wolves...

Pretend pouty faces...

We must test every bed!

We found the Perfect one!

Squishing Watermelon with a Vice...

Crazy faces and Rocking Chairs...

It was a fun day :D
I actually managed to buy the items I went there for...
Then home again, home again, jiggety jig!

Have a lovely evening every-body :o)

It's a hard question...

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I never knew how to answer it when I as younger; I finally settled on Free Range Egg Collector and House Wife. It seemed easy, I could wear what ever I wanted (a full length Yellow Dress with a White Pinafore and carry a Wicker Basket for my delicious treasures ^_^) and stay at home where it was safe with some-one I truly loved to bring me chocolate and presents...
I was 7! ;op

Now when I think about it or am asked (mostly for amusement) I think about Hanamoto Hagumi form 'Honey & Clover', the extremely talented artist with all the usual pressure to succeed and not be "selfish" [about her art] but poor and unable to support herself and her talent on her own.

Hagu chan from the live action film - played by Yu Aoi

I watch [the animated series] and wish I was her, and then I think more carefully about what I would be getting...attention from boys I don't know how to handle, having to face the pressure of being at an Art College with all the guilt and stress from other students and teachers attached, as well as not having a home that is Mine but needing to live with a relative - of course he is a much loved and adored relative :3

It frightens me that people can and willingly some-times live this way, but it always ends happily for her; being taken care of by the end of the second season and having been given the fantastic gift of never ending art supplies thus being able to put all her effort in her art :3

Then I think "Wait...I have that with out the bad bits"
I have bad bits in my life, the people we love do not always respond the way we want and taking care of a tired hungry child when, you too, are hungry and tired is frustrating, but there is indeed love...and oh so many art supplies ^_^

Memes...I can't resist them every now and then...

1. What's your staple meal (ie. what meal do you cook most often when you can't be bothered to be adventurous)?
Spiral Pasta or Pene with Bolognese, it keeps Toby happy and is super easy to make

2. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I think I am liking where I am going with the crafty knitting chick thing :3
I even have a new tattoo to show my devotion to my beloved click-clacking!

3. What book are you reading at the moment (if any)?
Oh...I am trying had to read 'The Fifth Elephant', a Disc World book, by Terry Prachett.
My kind Hus has been having me go through all the Sam Vimes stories, my father-in-law also lent me his copy of Unseen Academicals, which was (as always) thoroughly taking the micky out of many past events and stories (Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet in this case.) I never knew I could be woed by an Ork! Considering the type I am used to (Warhammer = dirty, stupid and thumpin' machines) it's not too surprising ;op

4. How do you relax?

Knitting Giant Scarf's! :D

I know this painting is from an Etsian but I don't know who ;_;

Also English T.V. - Poirot, Miss Maple, Top Gear, Last of The Summer Wine...
Playing Mario Kart, trying to beat my high scores or playing as a family.

5. What colour are the interior walls of your home?
Brown, brown, brown, brown...
Most of the interior of our house being built in the 1980 - 90's has a dark stain.
In the late 40's some-one repainted and wallpapered the Library in White and Moss...but then recently some-one else has done a half arsed job at taking it all out again.
The corridor to the bedrooms is a funny Aqua and individually the bedrooms are White, Mushroom, Baby Blue and Jade with White trim. I still love the place :o)

6. What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Oh dear...shopping in general. It is a problem that I "inherited" from my mother.
Recently I have gained more control, a little more money and the extreme happiness of Family, Craft & Home that prevents these expensive outings.

7. What time is bed time and getting up time?
...*cough*

Going to bed should be around 11:30 but some-times it is after 1:30
I still don't have the hang of waking up early, mostly due to insomnia related problems.

8. How long do you spend reading blogs (per day or per week)?
I'm not too sure, probably too long ;o)

_________________________________________________________________

1. If you could have a dinner with a famous person (alive or dead) who would you choose?
When I was younger I would have answered Oscar Wilde, now I think...maybe Colin Firth.
His 'Nanny McPhee' (see out takes) is just too lovely.

2. Where would you have that dinner?
In my back yard if he was visiting me, in his or some where equally safe feeling if I was visiting him.

3. What book written (in the last 300 years) had a real influence on your life?
Alice in Wonderland & Alice Through the Looking Glass or maybe more so Lewis Carrol's poetry.

4. If you could live anywhere, in any time, what place and time would that be?
Can I bring the internet, SN and my friends and family? Yes? Then I would like to visit the 1920's in England. If the Larkins were real, I would go and stay with them in the 1940's :3

5. What season would reflect you best?
Autumn.
The frost, crunchy leaves underfoot, creatures and plants making nests, collecting for Winter and starting to feel sleepy.

6. What do you wear when you don't want to think about what you wear?
Baggy pants (fishermen pants at the moment) and a baggy green singlet, the "Pinafore" kind that are too long to be a singlet but too short to be a dress (in my opinion) and large pockets for hankies or tissues.

7. What does craft/making mean to you?
The world, I know very well that I go crazy if I can't make things.
I do believe I would beat some-one with a chair if they were to try and steal my art & craft supplies. >_>

8. If you project yourself into the future. Is there anything you would like to achieve in the next 2 to 5 years?
To be continuously crafting with designated time off (excluding illness) and much, much more photo taking! ^_^

Banana and Blackberry Muffins!
The hearts were made by Toby :3

A Walk Around The Garden....

Two Fridays ago I was informed that there was a bed available at Mercy Hospital and I could go in to have my Tonsillectomy, I have now been home for going on 9 days (I believe) and am starting to be able to speak at regular intervals. Frustrating because Toby doesn't understand that even though I can talk a bit now, I'm still sick, good because I can sit on the couch and improve my Mario Kart scores :D

I was getting bored with sitting around the house, and I pushed myself Monday with a visit to Ikea and talking to my husbands friend Kate - she brought her Papillion Kio over for a visit and is helping me with finding a girl of my own :3 - which involved a lot of questions -_- Owwie...
So today I went for a stroll around the back garden with the camera, beginning and ending at the back steps ^_^

Here are some kitty paw prints from the in and outings during the flash floods we had a few days back.
