I have been putting off buying printable fabric for around a year now, I don't know why, maybe I feel poor every time I go to order it! What ever the reasons I am determined to find some now and make the small creatures pottering about in my head...they are mostly hedgehogs XP

Getting On With Things...

I have been putting off making a post until I found the leaflet from my Grandfathers funeral (which has been dubbed "The Pamphlet of The Dead" Yes, yes, I am very tasteful.)

It had the text and photo from what I thought was his passport but turns out to be some kind of Visa, he moved to Australia from Italy when he was about 23, he always knew he wanted to work with trains and never told any-one when he was in extreme pain, mental or physical.
My gift to him at his funeral was a little make-up, no nail polish and a full length skirt, I would like to think that I am the Lady that he always thought I was, but with my own special modern spin ;o)

A fortnight after we suffered his loss I had two new wonderful people come into my life and they introduced me to Raverly. Among the projects I have going on at the moment, I have started to make this scarf for my-self. It is very rare that I want to make clothing just for me, I look forward to completing this with added hood so I will have a little Scoodie all of my own!

Veggie Pancakes...

My brother's lady makes delicious food for breakfast and
I looooove pancakes so I made some-thing that she had made
up a few weeks ago and had ready for me when I woke up!

Mmmm...delicous :3


1 1/2 cups S/R Flour
3 cups Milk
2 Eggs
Pinch of Salt

Veggies I used today:
Grated Carrot
Grated Zucchini
Finely chopped Brocolini
Corn

For Vegan Pancakes swap the Milk
and Eggs for Soy Milk and Veggie Oil

Kittens!

About 4 months ago now we took in a stray cat that a friend had been watching over and she was pregnant with three lovely wee kittens, two boys and a girl, this is them once all three had been born (one is a day younger than the other two).

Here they are taking their first steps!
Toby is helping ;o)

After a while it was obvious that Toby didn't understand how gentle you had to be with them, so they were moved into the spare bedroom where this awesomely horrid bed spread was located.
They had been playing under the bed and were so sleepy :3

This is back in the lounge room when they were feeling
more adventurous and wanted to be near the fire.

Yesterday the first of them was homed with a friend and named Sherlock.
We spent the afternoon at her house playing with him while he got used to his new surroundings, there was much batting at dust in the sun light, hiding behind chairs and loud purring from pats.

Knitting is love...

This is my absolute favourite rendition (for t.v.) of the beautiful book
'The Wind in The Willows'
It was created by Cosgrove Hall as a movie pilot and was then made into a t.v. series with 4 seasons, a second movie revolving around Mr. Toad and his wicked doppelgänger and then a 5th season named 'Oh Toad!'

I am in love with Mr. Toad's original suit (before he ruins it in a fire), the red and cream cheques, the matching waistcoat and bright red tie emphasising his insistance that he be the centre of attention at all times - I can't tell you how many times my husband has asked me to make this and other suits that he wears through out the duration of the show; his star waistcoat to match his "Brand new Telescope" for example (which I will get around to, I swear!) :3

For such a long time now I have wanted to make a scarf or scoodie to match this suit, it is on my To Do list or my "Oh my gods, if I don't make this soon, I am going to have a fan induced embolism!" list ;op I have figured out how to do it in my head and now all I need is to buy the wool and make sure I have the correct pair of needles free...maybe I should buy more of those too...I seem to have at least 5, if not more, projects on the go at most times; right now I am surrounded by Rainbows, which I will share with you all later! XD

So, maybe, send me some good thoughts encouraging me to get on with this so I may share the fun and cozy results with you in the future? ;o)

Also, I want my kitchen/dining/lounge area to look like Badgers!

Fun with J-List...

So, I have been sick on and off :o(

I'm sorry creative and excited side of me...

I found J-List today which is filled with fun things for all ages.
I started in the Bento section trying to find a new one for my Toby
I seem to have narrowed it down to Ponyo or Totoro, good start!



But then...some-thing deliciously fantastic snuck up on me...
A set of Two Totoro Teacups!
Surely these were made especially for me?
Yes, I thought you would all agree :o)
We shall have a tea party in the garden once they arrive
And the rain has stopped :3

I missed you, my sweet little blog!

The past week or so has been a bit up and down, mostly up with much "This is the Best Day Ever!" going on out loud in the garden, but at the same time, I hate waiting for things, and to do many of the things I want to do right now, I need to wait. I need to try and be patient about this and not freak out, so I am enlisting my new favourite friend as I try to get Toby into bed at a decent hour and watch the flames of the fire flicker and crickle crackle :3

In the Studio...

Yesterday I stained the top of my work table, now it is
nice to touch and matches the rest of the room :3



This afternoon I started putting all my sewing gear in it's place and finding that things I had been using for storage at the old house could now be used more efficiently for other items...
Then I had the fun task of going through a large basket of extra bits & pieces and old & new projects, shaking out a few things to make sure it's all clean and making my hay fever worse XP

I am So Happy now that I have a wonderfully large area to work in where
I can spread every thing out and it can all have it's own special place :3
Then there is the tiny friends I have to keep me company while I work like the wee
Cardinal on my Over-locker who has been watching me quietly...

Then there is my new Desk Lamp!
All beautifully shiny and black and it most certainly makes up for the room being made so dark [at night] by the taking down the white canvas on the uppers walls by the previous owners and being of a similar model to that owned by Poirot; in the David Suchet's version *drools*

I am not often on the ball when it comes to Valentines, Allan is the one who remembers and as usual I received a call from him while at work to let me know how much he loves me and to see if I wanted to go on a date after Toby had been put to bed to the Pancake Parlour :3
Honestly, I wouldn't have minded staying home, but it was lovely being able to go out with-out mini us showing us his drawings and telling stories about his new fav' Pokemon.
Of course those times out are lovely too, in a different way :D



It was chockers when we arrived after 11:30pm and people were still coming in when we left after 1:00am. We both enjoyed desserts, the usual two stack pancake - mine with Cream and Strawberries, Allan's with Chocolate Ice-cream and Fudge - so good!
